Long Overdue

This post could easily go on and on and on, so I'm just going to highlight a few things that I've been up to lately.

- Just got back from Peru, it was super fun, and a really awesome experience. Such a great country, beautiful, cheap, and good times with a good friend of mine. I'm really glad to have gone to a third world country. Europe was really awesome because I enjoyed it so much, and it is so different, and there are a lot of things that I enjoy better than in the US. Peru I enjoyed also, but it is on the other side of the spectrum, and really , REALLY makes me appreciate everything that I have here in the USA.

- Finished my first 1/4 at SCAD! Whew, that flew by so fast it's not even funny! It was a lot of fun and a lot of hard work. I learned sooo much about art and design and life it is really almost overwhelming. I've started groping around and finding more and more about my vision and artistic philosophy, and I'm super stoked to be an artist, and to just be alive. Cool

- I've begun working as an associate to Garrett Nudd, which is super awesome, and a huge honor to be working with such an awesome photographer. I've had the pleasure to know and work with Garrett for a few years now, and I'm super psyched about working closer with him in the future, rock on!

That's just about it, I've been doing a lot of non photography related art in my free time on Winter vacation, and it's been pretty cool. I'll have to try and dig out some of my sketches and projects and share them soon!

Cheers World, stay Irie!

Whatever...

I was a little bored this afternoon, and I got a really wacky idea and wanted to try it out. So I called up my wacky friend Jason, and we went out to see what we could do. I have a Paul Simon (one of my personal heroes) album that has Paul's head on it, really big, so I figured that with a little help from my friend, we could ride our bikes around Savannah, and persuade people to hold up the album in front of their face and let us take a photo of it... totally crazy, totally random, really fun, and an actually pretty cool result. Here are some of the better shots. As we were working on this, big things were coming to our heads, so we're going to try and work on this for a few months, try and get hundreds of people to participate, and see what we can come up with. It should be pretty cool. Savannah is such a crazy town, it's just awesome. I don't think there is any way this would work in Orlando.

What's Up?

Not a whole lot, but I just wanted to update, I start to feel like I'm guilty when I go toooo far between updates. Anyways, I've just been hanging out in Savannah, living the Art Student life, which is pretty darn nice. It's pretty cool to be totally immersed in Art, all of the other students you meet are artists too, so It's a real creative springboard just to be in the atmosphere. I'm still super psyched to be taking pictures, and walking around Savannah the other day just shooting stupid stuff, was a real treat. I'm also really enjoying Savannah, and everyday that I get to walk out my front door with my bike and ride for 10 minutes around a beautiful city in the beautiful weather, heading to my class, I count my blessings. I also really enjoy riding my bike late at night when the streets are quiet and nice, I can't help but feel like a total kid, It's great.

My classes so far are pretty cool. My Art History class, Survey of Western Art I, is pretty tough because it's a lot of material in a short amount of time, which is not fun. I have a 2D Design class which is pretty cool, and we get to study a lot of basic aesthetic design elements that are really basic, but also really involved. Even though it's not super related to my major, I really feel like it's a great intro class. Drawing class is fun, but a bit of a struggle. I was thinking the other day, and I don't think I have taken an art class since about 4th grade!

I've actually got a pretty busy schedule coming up, which should be really fun. This weekend I'm heading up to Charleotte to see my sister and her new husband. The next weekend, I'm flying up to Maine to shoot a really cool wedding, which I'm really psyched about. The bride and groom planned the wedding so that the autum colors would be in full effect, so it is going to be really, really beautiful. Then the next week, I'm helping Garrett Nudd shoot a wedding back in Florida, so I'll get to head home and see what's been going on in my absence, and catch back up with Garrett, it's been way too long!

I'll try to keep updating as much as I can, and I want to try and show you all some of the projects that I've been working on, I can actually draw pretty well now, I'ts neat!

Peace,
-Brian

What's Up

Hello everyone!

It's been another busy few weeks, but I'm finally moved into my new place up in Savannah, and I'm really enjoying the town! Class starts tomorrow, and I'm thinking that I'm going to be a bit more busy, and I'm thinking that my blog is going to suffer a bit as a resulst of lack of time, but well see!

Anyways, I'll have a few more posts coming up soon.
